Below please find general question and answers about our health care data and methodology.

Why is this health care database important?
The Quality Forum Quality Measurement Analysis Portal or the Quality Forum Quality MAP data warehouse is intended to provide a range of health care data to help educate and inform the public on the variations in Louisiana’s health care system. This database will be used to inform the efforts of the Quality Forum, policymakers, researchers and providers as they work to improve the health outcome and increase the quality of health care delivery across Louisiana.

Where did this health data come from?
The Quality Forum Quality MAP is comprised of de-identified statistics from a set of claims data provided by a group of contributors including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Louisiana Medicaid, Louisiana Medicare, the Louisiana Hospital Association and the Health Care Services Division’s statewide dataset, excluding Shreveport.

Why does the Quality Forum data warehouse focus on Blue Cross Blue Shield of LA, LA Medicaid and Medicare?
Data from the payers or insured (BCBSLA, Medicaid and Medicare) were assembled into a relational data warehouse that was used to form the foundation of a database with de-identified information that allows an assessment of the quality and cost opportunities in the state.

How do I know the data and information provided by this health care database is accurate?
The health care data and information provided by the Quality Forum Quality MAP data warehouse was compiled and verified by a third-party health care data expert, Health Dialog.
