The Quality Forum is once again partnering to celebrate National Health IT Week. This marks the third consecutive year the organization has participated in the event. National Health IT Week (Oct. 5-9) is an awareness week held every year that brings together health care professionals and advocates dedicated to promoting the importance of health information technology in the U.S. This year’s theme is One Voice, One Vision: Transforming Health and Care. The LaPOST Coalition will launch a statewide project next month designed to educate nursing facility staff about advance care planning and the Louisiana Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment (LaPOST) document. Beginning with a kick-off meeting Sept. 9 in Baton Rouge, the project will assist facilities with incorporating this planning into existing facility operations so they can become LaPOST Ready. The workshop will feature a special overview, educational videos and training materials for participants to bring back to their facilities.
